Got all my Steam games installed on #Linux! The desktop icons were all blurry at first so I started replacing them with icons I found online, but after restarting a few times the remaining blurry icons fixed themselves.

I went to play my first game on here but I couldn’t get my Xbox controller to connect via the wireless USB adapter. Just figured out how to fix that problem and after waiting for Expedition 33 to “Process Vulkan shaders” for over ten minutes, I was able to get in game and play!

Next thing to do is figure out how to use MangoHud.

I figured out how to configure #MangoHud but getting it to run for all games was difficult so I resorted to using #Goverlay, which was conveniently already installed. Now I can easily toggle performance metrics on and off whenever I want!

Only problem remaining is it doesn’t show my CPU power draw, which I never really cared about in the past, but in the last few days I’ve been thinking about energy consumption while gaming. I’ll elaborate on that in a separate post.

Ugh. Modding games on #Linux is rough. I tried to install the 60 FPS mod for Shin Megami Tensei III but I think I’m going to give up on it as it’s too involved for me, plus it introduced flickering that I’m happy to no longer have to deal with. I also can’t get either of the updated menu mods to work, which I don’t understand since they just require the swapping of a single file.

Good news is, the decompressed audio mod worked without issue, which I think is the most important mod of all three!

Next up, trying to mod Persona 5 Royal. Having the correct answers in school and ideal social link responses marked is amazing.

@oldthink34 sometimes it's surprisingly easy! Sometimes it's nearly impossible...
