#Declutter #Decluttering #UnfuckYourSpace #UnfuckYourHabitat

So, I've been trying for a number of years and keep hearing that 'the more you declutter the easier it gets' and this has never been my experience.

Every time it's slow, painful, emotionally draining and HARD.

What am I doing wrong ?

DO NOT recommend the Kondo method to me.

Yes I am explicitly asking for concrete advice.

No jokes and / or sarcasm. Thanks.

@Faintdreams I have this problem too!

My biggest tip is organizing things. Like, when I see all the pens or notepads or fidget spinners or whatever (I'm at my desk, can you tell?) around me I get them all together and say "OK, how many of these do I actually want and need? Can I let go of any of them?"

And by looking at them all together it clicks for me that I really do not need all of the things and I winnow it down to the two or three things that I actually want to keep.

When I get stuck on a thing or category, I can let go of what I know I don't want, and put the rest away, together, to review later.

There may be a lot of things to review later, but they're organized by type.
