This graph made me laugh.

The World Bank collects inequality data, but the data is sensitive to the truthfulness of what is reported.

According to the data collected from Russia, the Russian society is more equal than ever before under Putin's dictatorship, and Russians will soon be more equal than Danes.

Yes — the country were rural folk still cannot afford modern toilets, reports that it is more equal than The Kingdom of Redistribution, Denmark.

Dear World Bank… you might want to reassess.

Gini graph showing inequality in countries where 100 is maximum inequality and 0 is full equality. Obviously, in Putin's corrupt country, much of the wealth is hidden, which means the statistics do not reflect reality.

@randahl
Forget about toilets.
Russians can't even guarantee drinkable water on invaded zones of Ukraine.
You may survive without toilets, but not without water.

@randahl

Transparency International ranks Iceland as joint 10th in the world for low levels of corruption.

This is an obvious farce and shows just how worthless that ranking is.

@svavar what in particular makes you believe Iceland is a corrupt nation? Are you from Iceland yourself?

@randahl

Yes, I'm Icelandic and the country is basically run by a handful of people who are related and inter-married.

There's a lot of corruption involving sweetheart deals between family members, school friends, and the like.

It's pretty obvious when you know how all those people are connected.

I know people personally who were fleeced by the banks during the crash in 2008. They'd be put into foreclosure only to find out the bank sold their house from under them to someone's relative.
