European Commission

Eighty years ago, the world chose peace, law, and cooperation 🇺🇳

Today – the anniversary of the UN Charter coming into force - its principles remain the foundation of international law and global peace.

But today too, the sovereign equality of States and the prohibition of force are under attack.

In Europe, Ukraine is on the front line of this test, fighting for its freedom and the UN-based world order. And we stand firmly with them.

Lasting peace must begin with international law.

The visible text on the poster, written in French, includes the line: "NOUS, PEUPLES DES NATIONS UNIES" (We, the Peoples of the United Nations). Overlaid in white across the bottom half of the image is the text: "Unity, our shared strength."
The European Union logo is in the bottom right corner.

@EUCommission And the UN charter says your members are obligated under the genocide convention to prevent genocide and you failed miserably to do anything. Please stop these messages, everyone sees you for the monsters you are. The fact that in Ukraine your geopolitical interests align with a people's right to defend their land from invasion in occupation, does not give you a pass for everything dreadful you have done in the world.

@EUCommission - and when you say, ‘…we stand firmly beside them’, you actually mean ‘The EU, UN and NATO support - but at some considerable distance and as innocuously as possible so as to not actually get involved - Ukraine.’

@EUCommission those words would ring truer if you weren't blatantly supporting entities that commit genocide

@EUCommission The greatest frontline and the primary threat is here at home, where fascists are trying to get into our government, and ordinary people are fooled into helping them.

It took the UN 2 years to recognize the genocide in Palestine.

The USA says "go f*ck yourself". Is that unity? Shared strength?

Laws and agreements are only as good as they're enforceable. And i didn't see anything in the recent years from the UN. Ukraine? Nothing. Gaza? Nada. Africa? Zilch.

Toothless tiger. And they're celebrating that. Sorry, but inaction is no feature i'd celebrate.

@EUCommission I think every country should work in order to move UN location in an independent country. Why Societé des Nation was in Suisse? We should rebuild UN, or it doesn't work

UN Charter has few bugs so fatal it makes UN unusable. UN born dead from the start due strong Stalin inpact. The country who started WWII with Hitler in 1939 declared a victim of WWII, and allowed to have impact on UN charter. Result?
💀 The terrorist state (USSR and now Ruzzia) has veto power in security council
❓ How that happened the Ruzzia represent the late USSR even without General Assembly vote while Ukraine and Georgia had to go full path to UN membership in 1990s?
