The answer is yes.
This is a pity, as their relevance is timeless, but the younger generation are not as aware of his work.
Sure, object to folks making money from it, or industrial scale copying, but fair use of the occasional cartoon in blogs/Reddit threads/presentations keeps his work alive.

@cstross since Berkeley Breathed also quietly started posting new strips a couple months back, the rule of threes says we ought to get new Watterson any day now. At least, I hope the rule of threes applies to legendary strippers coming back to work.

This is almost completely orthogonal, but I looked up Steve Bell on Wikipedia and his picture … I'm sure our families diverged three hundred or more years ago[1], but the familial resemblance is amazing! He could be my brother.

Yes, his website has had this "new stuff" section for a few years. He's not back to releasing drawings daily or weekly, though. He puts up new stuff only occasionally.
