So I have now iterated to trying out sdm in an attempt to get this RPi 500+ to accept a 4Tb SSD and this would be so much easier with a pair of working eyeballs ...

@cstross do you have a large-screen TV you could plug it into instead of a monitor?

@cstross
Plug the HDMI into your tv?
(Assuming you have a tv, that it has HDMI input, and is larger than the monitor you are currently working with)

@markjustmark Nowhere to sit and work at the RPi in the room with the TV—Not with my knees, anyway.

@cstross I don't know if sdm supports GPT partion tables, if not this will also not work with the 4TB nvme. The rpi-imager uses MBR and with the little information I found, it seems that you need to make the switch to GPT by hand. Here is a link with some hints on how to do it: https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=364330

Is rpi5 using GPT as default? - Raspberry Pi ForumsRaspberry Pi

Figure you might appreciate the #Rockbox theme I'm working on for the #Innioasis Y1 iPod clone. It uses the American Printing House "APHont" font for legibility. I can pretty much read it without my glasses on while out walking.

https://www.aph.org/resources/large-print-guidelines/https://www.aph.org/resources/large-print-guidelines/

Picture of a light-blue Innioasis Y1 music player, running the Rockbox player instead of its original one. The player is using a theme which is very much in progress. The theme focuses on legibility and large print over style or elegance.

The Y1's screen shows info for the currently playing song on 5 lines using a 32-point version of the APH APHont font. The 5 lines take up the entire display. The text shows "#1/11 100%" on the first line [track #1 of 11 on the original album; 100% battery charge], "The Police" on the second line, ""Spirits in the " [Material World", the song title] on the third line, "0:00 of 2:59" [time played of the song so far of its total length], and an "pause" icon and "0 dB" [Rockbox's way of showing max volume] on the bottom line.

The Y1 is an iPod clone, complete with white scrollwheel with "back", "previous", "next" and "play/pause/stop" icons printed on it.
