I know many people who use Arch. Now I get it. I probably won't look any other way in the future. I've used all kinds of distros over the years, from rpm-based to deb-based, but now I've finally seen the light.

@rolle I've never tried Arch except for SteamOS which AIUI is Arch-based, but I do know one thing: their documentation is amazing. Whenever you try to solve a thing in Linux land, you sooner or later land on Arch documentation and quite often that's the last stop you need 😄

@rolle I was a long time arch user but got converted into NixOS this year. The feeling is the same as not being able to use any other text editor than vim. But yeah, arch was great fun too :)

@rolle I had old embedded raspi like board, o-droid u3 I used for cctv. I found only arch supported it. I run it happily few recent years. I had to go to man page each time while upgrading it. Never remembered the switches to search, install and update the packages 😁 But it was lean and mean.

The myth spread around that arch breaks with upgrades is spread so newbs stay away and there is less noise for support

It is not perfect by any means, but pacman is an addiction, one can never go back to inferior tools. And there is so much in pacman you can do that most people only use 20% of it.

@rolle Joskus muinoin kokeilin asentaa Archin läppäriin.
