I now assume that the avalanche of "journalism" "covering" Amazon "deals" on "Prime Days" is almost entirely a revenue generator for the "news" organizations, via commission links.
I canceled Amazon Prime. Consider doing the same.

@dangillmor I did that years ago. The only regret I have is buying too many ebooks from Amazon so I am basically locked in if I don't want to lose my books. Otherwise I would cancel them altogether. I don't need Amazon. And Prime was never worth it in the first place.
@dangillmor I have gone one stage further by never having subscribed to Prime in the first place!
I haven't used Amazon for years on account of how they treat their employees and "sub-contractors".
If stuff is cheap is cheap then it means that people in the supply chain are earning (much) less than you are
@dangillmor We boycotted buying anything from Amazon and Prime and Ring and Audible
@dangillmor The top story on WIRED today is...shopping...
@dangillmor I cancelled it years ago after the first time I needed to use their customer support line.
@dangillmor Done it last year. Nothing changed drastically shopping wise, I mean I got more money in my pocket and authentic products
@dangillmor I can't cancel it because I've never had it, despite Amazon's continual dark pattern efforts to sign me up.
