What are the backbenchers doing? Whips have become straw men ffs!
@cstross
My take is Horizon @ 67,000,000 souls. Powerful and simple meme.
@cstross I myself changed my position from “ambivalent” to “no fucking way” and signed the petition shared around in here. Reverse Midas indeed.
@tad There is a trait I identify as having "a reliable moral anti-compass', as in, for any given moral question, this dude is on the wrong side. Normally applies to Trump, Farage, Putin ... but Starmer is showing a surprising ability to enshittify everything he touches.
@cstross bang on. These other guys at least got charisma. Starmer is like he was put together out of Play-Doh and anti-talent in a laboratory of a mad scientist.
@cstross "Everything he touches turns to lead"
@cstross lol, it's things like this which make me momentarily proud of this idiotic island, not flags and racism!
@cstross I have been subject to “reverse Midas touch” where everything I touch turns to shit!
@cstross Meanwhile, the petition is close to 2.7 million signatures and still counting.
No date set for a parliament debate, only a note that there will have to be one (but they are busy looking for excuses not to).
@cstross Can we book him to support the fossil lobby? But he’s probably doing that already, just with much less success…
@cstross They did say 'fallen to -14%' but aside from the fact that this seems silly, the context implies that it should have been 'fallen BY 14%', no?
@cstross "4D chess ... he never wanted it either ..." or some such incoming?
