Say what you want about DHH, as a long-time Linux user I support the effort to bring Linux to the masses.
It's funny, a week ago I was repeating the joke "this year will be the year of the Linux desktop!!!", but then I realized wait, the Linux desktop is pretty good now, even for newbies.
Big credit to Steam's #Proton for making games on Linux just work. That was my last real reason to dual-boot to Windows.
My most recent Linux realization is that #Kdenlive, the open source video editor, is really good. Like as good as #DaVinci Resolve for what I use. So that's cool.
@dinosaur
Which distro do you recommend?
I'm using Linux Mint, because it always just works, but there might be better options these days 馃檪
@serapath I use https://regolith-desktop.com/ (on Debian), which I love. 馃寯 馃挏
To me, Regolith (GNOME + i3) is the best balance: things like printers and displays just work, easy to find packages in the Debian / Ubuntu ecosystem, plus I get to use an awesome tiling window manager.
@dinosaur ha, great. will check it out :-)
To be clear, you should _also_ still say what you want about DHH, he's got uninspiring opinions on race and gender:

For an alternative to DHH's Omarchy, I use https://regolith-desktop.com (on Debian), which I love. 馃寯 馃挏
