Last night my middle kid got my 2011 vintage personal laptop converted over to #Linux in advance of #EndOf10 doom. Using Debian and XFCE. Excited for many reasons:
- Giving throwaway/surveillance capitalism the finger
- Extending the life of a perfectly good piece of hardware (honestly the best laptop I've ever owned personally)
- Learning a new OS and advancing my nerd credentials
- bonding with my kid over geeky stuff
I'll still be using Windoze at work...for now...
