@jackyan thanks for the reminder! Alas, that nonprofit group blog, AltPlatform, didn't last long. But it did make me check out the open web initiatives of the time, like Mastodon and #IndieWeb. @jackyan @pkboi Yes, and that was part of the reason why it took me a few goes before I started to use Mastodon regularly. It took a while for the tech community to come in and settle. I think early in 2017 I signed up to a now defunct instance, mastodon.technology. But I switched to mastodon.social later that year.
