If journalists were doing their jobs, they would call the deployment of National Guard troops to Washington, DC, from three deep-red states what it is: an invasion and occupation force.

No, chuds do not get to take over our cities.

What's far more likely to happen is these guard troops will find out cities are not the evil places they thought and return home to their parochial red states as changed people who see they've been fed lies.

@dangillmor it is a continuation of the descent into fascism that came into public view on January 6th. It is a coup and the whole GOP ia culpable. EVRY. SINGLE. ONE. Along with the journos who dont call out the false emperor #Felonincharge for being what it is.

@dangillmor This does seem to violate the independence of the territory. The whole reason it couldn't be a state. So now some states are sending nat guard...

What would happen if Blue states did the same?

Corporate journalists obey in advance in their language. They're all trained in PR and hired for that "prior restraint."

Most people working in the news aren't journalists. They're news readers. And their editors aren't news editors, they're transmitters of corporate policy and opinion.

And still there are many heroes in their ranks.

Where are all those people who fought hard for 2A rights because they needed to be ready to fight back against the infringing government overreach that was their greatest fear?

You would think that normal patriotic citizens would be lining up against this, right?

Perhaps their narrative was less about freedom and more about protecting *thier* place in the world?

@dangillmor and this is why we passed a bill in Washington State limiting deployments of outside National Guards. Despite GOP legislators wondering why it was necessary
