Sure, let's put the education of our next generation in the hands of an influencer-podcaster and AI with guides to entrepreneurship, public speaking and financial literacy. Yeesh.

@jeffjarvis
Gross! It’s alarming how much 💩 comes out of the AI #Duolingo uses to create stories for reading practice. The AI used for conversation practice is much better, I think because the human conversation partner keeps it on track. But when the AI has to make up a whole story, it’s filled with inconsistencies and ridiculous twists. I loathe AI-generated stories as much as I loathe AI visual slop. I pity the kids who are subjected to this.
@jeffjarvis Oh, please. #Homeschooling is far more complex and diverse than either you or the #BrokenTimes are recognizing. There have always been secular homeschoolers (for instance, my family) and I’d be curious to know how growth in that sector compares.

Also, you and the people quoted in this article may be surprised to discover how hard it is to brainwash kids. 🃏

@jeffjarvis I don’t have a time subscription, but people homeschool their kids for lots of reasons, not least is that (usually Republican) underfunding and over-regulation has made public schools fairly shoddy in many places.

I was homeschooled partly out of my mom’s religiously motivated fears of public schools and it didn’t make a fascist out of me. Leave room for the world to be bigger than you imagine.
