Nice surprise that when downloading update from an EU mirror, I found #HaikuOS actually seem to achieve a much faster #WiFi connection speed on my Intel 8260 adapter than #FreeBSD using the #iwlwifi driver and downloading from a US mirror on the same continent. Although it is not as stable on Haiku as it failed multiple times.
@hannorein This is absolutely the best idea. I don't have a computer set up for hosting, but I know a professor down the hall from me who does. I will see if he has space for the videos!
@sundogplanets @hannorein I want to do this too. How do you choose between expecting the students to download large files and their own video player software, or offering them some kind of widget or JS program to embed a player in the LMS?

Got a small swarm of messages (all from strangers) telling me that I shouldn't have blocked a particular person, that I made a mistake, that I was being "unfair."
Maybe. I have a hair-trigger block button. I make mistakes. But I also deal with a lot of bad faith actors here.
Since my blocking someone has very little effect on the world, I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

If you're writing a story about police abusing Flock access to stalk current/former/potential partners, I'm begging you to please follow up on the consequences these cops face for getting caught, because a lot of the time it's barely more than a slap on the wrist.
