@carnage4life so there were no problems in America to address? This system was working well for all Americans? https://infosec.exchange/@codinghorror/116098902726924703
@codinghorror Are things better now? 🙃

@gugurumbe @evan @cwebber @kopper @hongminhee yup, using full IRIs also has the advantage that ld-unaware processors only need to recognize 1 form instead of infinitely many.
the thing is, we have semantics imported from the content type (activity+json) which can also change. which is why i think versioning the context document is also important -- it freezes the semantics at the time of publishing, like pinning your dependencies.
without that, we might well have a simpler profile...
@trwnh as a paranoid person, I sometimes wonder what would happen if schema.org received a court order to partially censor its schema in certain regions of the world. Or inject a backdoor key. If it prevents people from sending memes across the geofence, it’s bad.

Up to 22% now, I'm told I will have some prompts to answer at some point, so I'm watching closely. The only non-green issues I've see so far are warnings about not being able to delete directories because they aren't empty.

Turns out all the gender-neutral pronouns we've been getting more used to in recent years (which is great) is also going to be useful for dealing with the millions of personal bots coming soon
Anonyme Kommunikation bleibt zwingend notwendig.
@CCC
@ceejbot I've used cargo-clippy, but this exchange reminded me of another tool which took more direct inspiration from Microsoft's Clippy: https://texteditors.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Vigor
@jamey TIL! And that sounds deliciously obnoxious.

@noeldemartin Hey Noel. I'm in Barcelona on Saturday if you're around 🙂

@civodul I hope they rewrote their LLM in Rust first, for real Rust vibes.
#mastondon Friends!
There is a TON of improvements we could make to Private Mentions (often called DMs on other platforms) e.g.
* getting them out of the public timeline
* Having a stronger notification tied to the Private Mention tab
* (amount other things)
But here is my MAIN question: How critical is it that these message are encrypted? I'm not against encryption! It's just complex and will take time. If we were to make some UX changes as a first pass WITHOUT encryption would you be OK with that (at least for now?)
If you MUST have encryption, that's fine, please do me the favor of replying explaining why you need it.
@scottjenson
I'm not here for encrypted messaging.
