Before you start your day, take a few moments to outline the 3 most important things you need to do.
1. Make the dog happy.
2. Realize the absurdity of everything else.
3. Pat self on back for accomplishing making the dog happy.
One of the things I think the Star Wars franchise got right where others failed, was to recognise the enduring love for the design of the first films. The true art and effort that went into it all. Andor particularly for me returning to Mon Mothma and the rebels worked really well. Whereas the whatever the shit the new Superman films are just totally biffed it by trying to make everything super tech armour hard edges. What is more terrifying than Terence Stamp in a chiffon pantsuit?

My daughter and I started our road trip from Texas to New Jersey yesterday. It was a good day for driving, talking and listening to a few podcasts.
@roytoo Amazing! That sounds like good quality time.

• Motives to use cargo bikes are compared with motives to use cars.
• Cargo bike sharing users tend to rate cargo bikes superior on most attributes.
• Structural measures could increase competitiveness of cargo bikes compared to cars.
Hey, y’all remember last year when I went to the ER cause we thought I was having a stroke cause of the double vision? And it turned out to be a bacterial infection in my optic / cranial nerves, and the culprit was ultimately determined to be contaminated eye drops? Save yourself the hospital stay, and throw away any bottles of Clear Eyes Maximum Itchy Eye Relief.

i like this kind of ridiculous problem
Incidentally, I just placed an online supermarket delivery order via Amazon (because I need a food drop for stuff I can't carry upstairs right now) and their unit price calculations on groceries are broken, looks like a multiply instead of divide error to go from pack size to price per kg. Feels like AI-induced enshittification has hit the big boys.
For.. reasons.. I am making a wealth inequality playlist. I want songs that aren't TOO aggro and could be background-ish at an event, catchy, topical, without making themselves the center of attention. Here's what I have so far. Please parse this list and suggest along these lines, if you like.

⚠️ Four months ago, I analyzed 228 offensive‑security blogs (BadSectorLabs List) to better understand the decline in the volume of shared information over recent years. The result of the analysis was:
📉 48% drop in articles shared, the last two years vs previous years.

We entered the AI era, and the knowledge didn’t disappear… it simply moved behind products, services, and paid courses.
Before AI, the path was:
Technique ➡️ Blog ➡️ Community Reach ➡️ Career Growth ➡️ 💵💶
Now:
Technique ➡️ Paid Course / Service ➡️ Direct Monetization 💵💶
The information still exists, it’s just no longer free. 💸💸

@adamgreenfield @akamran @Npars01
It all sort of depends on the magnitude of the disaster and type of disaster.
Sharing resources over a larger population can have a lot of benefits - major earthquakes, floods, forest fires, hurricanes, etc. can (and do) overwhelm even regional resources.
@PaulWermer @akamran @Npars01 Hmmm, a complex collective action problem, to be sure. Sounds like someone ought to write a book about it! https://www.versobooks.com/en-gb/products/2536-lifehouse
@jpm @NewtonMark not an auto stop start model then?
@franksting @NewtonMark uh, no. ‘91 Corolla
@Edent "I haven't changed every reference from em to ch" but em is also a unit relative to the font size, why do you switch from em to ch?
@kleisli typo! Should be "px to ch". Thanks for spotting, now fixed.
@jpm I was hoping someone would say no so I didn't accidentally get diverted into working out what I need.
@abstractcode you’re going to end up buying a Voron kit
