When Republicans retire or get voted out of office, there are cushy jobs waiting for them in think tanks and corporate boards that pay hundreds of thousands of dollars. Those jobs are not available to repubs that aren’t team players. Susan Collins is the poster child for the practical results of this system. Collins only votes against her party when it doesn’t matter.
