However, I completely agree that fascism is now endemic to every culture because patriarchy is deep in the marrow of human culture and it's something we have to evolve our culture away from or it will literally destroy us all.

fascism is no more human nature than patriarchy; and the further you go back the less patriarchy we have, precisely because it has always been a shitty way to survive.
Cooperation is survival.
"*fascism is human nature* because brutality is survival" is patriarchy justifying itself

...as the early industrialists got men to buy into their obedience to capitalism by promising to basically enslave women to them, something even Marx managed to just overlook

@jan @archos @yunohost @dansup@pixelfed.social @pixelfed I was focused on Loops, but now I'm back to full time Pixelfed development!
I just shipped a big update, that fixes account migration and there is a lot more updates coming!
@dansup@mastodon.social @archos @yunohost @dansup@pixelfed.social @pixelfed Hi Dainel! That's a great news! Can't wait to see all the new updates coming. I would like to localize both PixelFed and Loops apps into Czech Language, can you steer me into right direction, how can I do this? I'm enjoying both PixelFed and Loops, both apps are great and thank you for your continuing support!
a thread on bsky (that I shared over there) makes the point that fascism is endemic...and while I agree we need to always be fighting fascism and fascism has to hide what it is to succeed (because we've begun to evolve past it culturally, although not yet completely), I *do not* agree that fascism is part of "human nature"
fascism is patriarchy retrenching
here's my own thread on that...

Made it to the airport to head to Paris for #SotM2026, will be in town from Tuesday on. If anyone else is in town early and wants to grab a bite/drink, give a shout!
@cstross @MythingPerson I'm gonna miss the Laundry, but I'm glad you're still writing.
@ajn142 @MythingPerson It's taking its time (but seems to want to be three novels in this new setting, not just one and done)
I wanna know Luigi Mangioneโs brow upkeep routine
Believe, don't believe โ I'm not in a position to prove anything yet. Only in a position to casually say, I know better.
@Linux replying to people with unprovable claims is sad. I don't know you and have no reason I should believe random accounts. You should leave me alone.
@juergen_hubert I don't understand the frock part... why did she think him buying a new trock was him being ashamed of her?
That is indeed a puzzle. Spirits often take things personally which weren't meant personally.
Perhaps she thought that he deemed himself "too good for her" by buying the new frock.
non-profits have boards and patrons...
i worked at a non-profit that did open source software. unix/linux based. then we got a new president who came from the VC world. he mandated use of commercial software because it was what all the cool kid VCs were using.
microsoft has its tentacles in too many places and too many folks that bring money are used to it. it's really hard to get it out once in and it's hard to keep it out.
@paul_ipv6 Yep and this is why I don't do client support and consultancy anymore.
It's tiring and frustrating.
Too many time's I've seen that exact thing happen.

@ajn142 @MythingPerson Correct! (It's a space opera.)
@cstross @MythingPerson I'm gonna miss the Laundry, but I'm glad you're still writing.
