You could also point out that all the public money we spend on these white elephant missiles goes straight offshore. In stark contrast to the money we pay people to do public service work.
As well as serving the public good, much of that money comes back to the government in tax. From the workers themselves, as well as the businesses where they spend their earnings. So this kind of spending is not nearly as costly to the public purse as some political parties would have you think.

When remotely-piloted drones - like the ones Ukrainian and Iranian defence forces are using - can do essentially the same job, at a fraction of the price.

@hostsharing Das passiert gerade auch Reihenweise bei Vereinen, die NON Profit Lizenzen haben/hatten. Auch die üblichen Fristen von 60 Tagen "Backup" werden hier von Microsoft nicht eingehalten. Zwei Wochen nach Ablauf der Lizenz sind die Daten weg. Selbst so erlebt.
