a randomly-generated cryptographic keypair alone provides the strongest possible notion of consent! they don't even do the basic shit that every darknet market and even darknet forums are now requiring users to do, which is to generate some random challenge and sign it with the public key, and simply refuse to accept any declared keypair without a successful challenge response

the weaponization of "consent" here did genuinely shock and appall me the first time i read it, but it's just a really tired trope to me at this poiint. the reason they need an email address is so they can surveil who the key belongs to! it's literally just that

@matt I'm not part of @mdg but it is of course in-fighting. That's normal and healthy for political parties. There are disagreements on issues, on messaging and there is competition for leading posts. Compared to other parties MDG looks rather cozy in that respect.

@malwaretech I agree with the message of your post - but I think you underestimate how well an LLM (even a local one, no need for latest cloud models) can use an initial vector (from a regularly automated scan) to gain persistence and exploit. While nation state actors have personnel doing this for their 9-5, this ability is now part of any script kiddie's toolbox as well.

LLMs are also super useful to analyse centralized loki flows for "anything that seems suspicious or out of the ordinary". Keep all rule sets in place for known things, they're much more effective at that, but an LLM can pick up on unknown things remarkably well.

🧱 The secret ingredient holding the Great Wall of China together is sticky rice.

Ming Dynasty masons (1368-1644) mixed boiled sticky rice soup into their lime mortar. The result was a tough, flexible, water-resistant binder that has held brick sections together for around 600 years.

The chemistry: sticky rice is packed with amylopectin, a complex starch. In 2010, chemists led by Bingjian Zhang at Zhejiang University found that amylopectin acts as a template, steering calcium carbonate crystals into a dense, interlocking structure instead of large brittle chunks.

That compact microstructure is why some wall sections have shrugged off earthquakes and still keep weeds out of the seams centuries later.
