This entire report from the Ontario government on genAI systems is worth a read, but the review of healthcare scribe accuracy is pretty devastating, imo. This has to work for the tech to be worth anything. If the notes in the chart are wrong, the whole thing falls apart.

@citizen428 Oh, I do that for a lot of feeds. Usually 90% of them I just read the headline to see if it might be interesting, and if not then I mark all as read.
But now that I think about it I should probably prune some feeds I almost never read.

Major surgery is quite the forcing function.
I have to reset volunteer obligations, which I aim to keep at reduced levels even afterward.
I have to get my house in order. Beyond "guest ready," it has to be decluttered even in private spaces.
I have to document what upkeep looks like, so that I can farm it out to my friends and family for a while.
It's also forcing me to contend with: who do I want to see, and who can I count on?
I'm excited about what life will look like on the other side.

@404mediaco as fas as I understand it, the point is that AI output is randomized either way. They just change the source of pseudorandom numbers in a way that they can recognize it. So I would agree with them that watermarking doesn't change the style or meaning of the distribution of generated text. You can still argue that the generated text is stylistically bad, but not because of watermarking.
@pau @404mediaco the argument is not that the watermarking makes the text had, but that the watermarking tech shows that word choice is jot important to them, as it might be for a human writer. So getting text corrected by an AI has a good chance to make it less good (if the writer is a bit experienced)
