In Paris, the invasive Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus), an aggressive, day-biting nuisance, is now everywhere. So excited to get Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika in Paris.

Never went to either of my graduations (though mainly because I'm not totally sure I could contain my rage being face to face with our Vice-Chanceller), but I've said before if I do a PhD or DMA and get to wear the cap I probably will.
@cuddlyanarchist I didn't go to my PhD graduation. Way too burned out. But someone was giving away a robe from a deceased relative my first year as a professor, and it happened to be the right university and right faculty! Super grateful for that.

My former colleagues at Columbia, Mark Cane and Stephen Zebiak, were the first ones to successfully predict El Niño more than a year in advance in the late 1980s.
Now we’re really good at it, and we know what the consequences are. It’d be irresponsible for governments not to take action now. Read this from my buddy Jeff Shaman.

@jpm Dunno. Not equipped to investigate it. Pedal went straight to the floor and not a single gear could be selected.
