@darkling @cstross @feorag @aspragg I had to navigate LW as a pedestrian a couple of times this summer and it was hellish from Picardy Place down to Balfour St. Even if you can work out what is/isn't cycle path, cyclists* treat the lanes, arrows and signals as optional, demanding hyper vigilance from pedestrians where they ought to be safest.
It's becomes so hostile to pedestrians I don't want to go back; the closed shops indicate I'm not alone.
* many of whom are on electric motorbikes
@FionaCraig @darkling @feorag @aspragg Yup. There are a lot of restaurants and take-aways in Leith and on the Walk (cheap rents, depressed from years of tram works) so it has become the M1 for deliveroo riders in black on souped-up fat-tired ebikes.

What a great week for the Trump administration:
1. The Federal Reserve raised the interest rate.
2. The Suppreme Court ruled against Trump’s new mail-in ballot rules.
3. He had to ban CNN and MSNBC from the White House, because the truth makes him look bad.
4. Diesel prices are $6.49, and
5. Mike Johnson had to close the House until November to avoid Secretary of War Crimes Pete Hegseth being impeached.
All of this while there is only 45 days until the midterm elections.
