Sometimes the good guys win.
@evacide a mass democratic movement, vs the fascist oligarchy: who will win?
@evacide the NYPD needs to get on the right side of history or they will be dealt with like all those who violate our civil rights.
@evacide
Of note, this article is written far more neutrally than I'm used to seeing nowadays. It repeatedly acknowledges the law enforcement stance, but doesn't actually seem to take it as fact or take their side. It focuses more on the protesters' stance, but comes across as doing so more because that's the newsworthy part.
@evacide Unfortunately... their success allows jerkface clear grounds to federalize and deploy National Guard.
@evacide what these assholes are forgetting is when this administration is over, and it will be over, people will not forget what they did and these fake illegal agents will be exposed.
@evacide
New Yorkers never liked him, for all the money and bling.
@evacide fuck ICE and fuck t.ump
@evacide Unfortunately it's just a battle, and there's no real opposition party to Republican fascism willing to push back as hard as needed. The Democrats are too limp and spineless while the millionaire geriatrics are still in leadership positions.
@evacide "Saturday's incident demonstrated how the city's physical infrastructure —its narrow streets and densely populated areas, built mostly by immigrant labor over the last two centuries—can impede ICE's so-called "enforcement surges," which involve large numbers of federal agents conducting sweeping raids, often moving quickly in and out of an area."
Interesting to think about this in the context of Haussmann's Paris.

@evacide Hate to see the NYPD cooperating.
