My 9-year-old heard the term RPG and is curious. Neither he nor we his adults know anything about TTRPGs, so I'm trying to learn more about what it would mean in practice.

A little apprehensive because when he gets into a thing he wants to do it nonstop every day and TBH I don't know if I personally want to do hours of this everyday with him, and I also don't know who else he could play with. (He's autistic and mostly at home and only has 1 friend.)

Any experiences to share?

@trigonella @kyonshi I’m not sure about autism per se but I do know lots of kids with various social challenges who benefitted from getting a chance to pretend to be someone different and imagine how they would/should act in different situations. If your kid likes reading my suggestion is to give them a rulebook and let them digest it and go from there
