Like Robert Johnson, I too, encountered the Devil on the crossroads. He challenged me to a duel. He said "choose your instrument, mortal, and we shall do battle until only one of us is victorious". He said "if I shall best you, I will take your mortal soul and it will be mine forevermore to do with as I please. However, should you somehow best me, you may choose your prize". I thought long and hard, and after a time I said to the Prince of Darkness.... "I choose.... garlic". And thus we did battle. Minutes turned to hours turned to days and what felt like an eternity. But lo the Devil was no match for me, and finally admitted defeat with a cry.... "I cannot win! For your consumption of garlic is too great". And with a mighty earth-rending sigh, he gave me my choice. And to him I spake... "don't worry about it mate. I just love garlic. But you can have my soul anyway if you want. I'm not doing anything with it". And so, my friends, that was the tale about how I came to be a Devil-beating soulless garlic eating traveller on this road we call life.

@TheBreadmonkey

This was a frivilous and foolish tale that in no way approaches the sheer horror of the truth.
