Today is World Kindness Day.

The most simplest act of kindness is to wear a filtering respirator known as an N95 or FFP2. When it’s placed snug and securely on your face, it can significantly reduce the germs that might escape from your mouth when you cough/sneeze/speak, germs that you might not even know you have. Wearing this sort of mask can help prevent others from getting sick.

Nobody’s going to give you an award for this kindness. Some will be real assholes about it, in fact.

“Oh no, I missed World Kindness Day! I guess that means I can never wear a respirator and kindly do my part to reduce the spread of viruses that get coughed and sneezed out of mouths and noses. Everyone will just have to hope that washing hands is enough to stop them from inhaling the germs in the air.”

Guess what — you can wear the respirator every day AND be real smug about. Wear an N95/FFP2 proudly, point to it and say “I’m basically saving your life right now. You’re welcome!”

Don’t care about other people? Hey, I get it. Guess what, though — that N95/FFP2 respirator mask that fits without any gaps on your face can block/filter the gross germs spewing out of everyone else!

Do a kindness to yourself and prevent yourself from getting sick. You may like not getting sick today so much that you decide to treat yourself to wearing an N95 every time you have to be around anyone else. And if they all get sick from not protecting themselves, welp, sucks to be them.
