🌿Nature is always waiting in the wings to reclaim what we have taken. When we abandoned our buildings, or discard an old car in a forest, it isn’t long before vegetation colonises what we have left behind.
A smashed window or a collapsed roof is all it takes, a small opening for plant-life to enter and take root. In my opinion, the most beautiful of all abandoned places are ones that are being reclaimed by nature.
Which one is your favourite?

"Our whole organisation was basically premised on the idea that there were people who were willing to let a bunch of young idiots on to their land indiscriminately, to make fairly massive decisions that would affect land value. We didn’t have any evidence that those people existed at the start. We just kind of assumed, or prayed, that they did.”

It's National Tree Week in the UK and, to mark the occasion, here's a photo of Wistman's Wood - a well-known remnant of Britain's, once-abundant, temperate rainforest. These stunted and twisted trees, growing amidst boulders, are one of the highest oakwoods in Britain.
The photo is from this time of year, but a few years ago - before we were being discouraged from walking amongst them. There's a location shot in my reply to this post.
In defence of the status quo, we are made to belief that asking for richer public space, safety for our children or a higher quality of live is 'Radical Activism'. 🌳🚲
You are not a radical. They are! 🚩

A Hawk Private Moment
I caught this Cooper’s hawk (Accipiter striatus) mid-groom, feathers fluffed in quiet concentration. It glanced up, eyes sharp and unbothered, as if to say, “Yes? Can I help you?”
