This past Tuesday, antifascist activist Maja T. was sentenced by a court in Budapest to eight years in prison. The trial appears to have been largely bereft of substantive evidence, but that's Hungarian law in the present moment.

Here is my translation of Maja's statement to the court before the verdict was handed down. There's some pretty weighty stuff in here, but ultimately it is a heartfelt expression of the importance of solidarity from the outside for people serving long prison sentences for bullshit reasons.

A statement from Maja's solidarity committee is posted below.

Here is the statement from Maja T.'s solidarity committee following Maja's guilty verdict and sentencing to eight years in prison. They really build on the notion that support for Maja and other antifascist prisoners is just as important now as it was before and during Maja's trial. A strong statement all around.
