Writing is going well today! Have a mid-session snippet:

“This,” she finally said, “this is why you took me.”
Iberto hesitated. “I do not know what you learned to anger you so — but that anger? That need to destroy? Yes. I will do whatever I can, become whatever I must, to overcome the monks and restore the goddes. No matter what the cost.”
“Then I am with you,” Kira heard herself say. “I do not— can not forgive you, but I understand and will stand with you. No matter the cost.”

I meant to continue writing another half hour, but i don't like the way my brain feels. Stopping now. 1030 words written, plus 940 words imported from prior version of this story, for a total of nearly 2000 words added today.

Good progress.

Amir put the book he had been reading away with a sigh. He had spent the night with Soren, who had not taken the news of his new position well. The Great Goddess was a name of fear and dark tales in the cities, and even Iberto’s friendliness and decency on their journey could not entirely erase those old fears for either of them. Then, early that morning, the Word-Weaver had formally Called Soren before the High Altar. It had been a shock and a wonder, and the joy of it still reverberated through him. But Soren had left with his goddess to begin his training, and Amir returned to the old library and his hunt.

Today's another 'pretend to function' day. Thinking PMS. But! Managed to get some writing done. 709 words added to A Smear of Blood

Today's a weird mix of writing and revision, but final manuscript is 4,500 words longer than yesterday.

I'm feeling a bit intimidated right now. This is the first time I've really be worried I wouldn't make a deadline on my writing/publishing schedule. I've got two months to write AND edit about 50,000 words.

Anyway, it's going well so far.

She turned to stare at him, tears shining in her eyes. "I can go back?"
"Of course. I never meant for you to think you couldn't." He gestured out towards the city. "Go. Tell them what has happened."
Her slight scowl became a bright smile. "I do not know if this is full payment, but it helps. Thank you." She turned and dashed out of the compound toward the city.

Okay, that plan is dead. I don't think I'm going to be able to do Elisabeti this month. Not sure why, but it's just hitting me really wrong right now.

Switching to work on A Smear of Blood.

1093 words. Good start i think.

Han was a warm presence in her mind and a comfort at her back. She was glad to be Called, to have a chance to serve her god as so few did. But... still there was pain and resentment and a bitter sense of betrayal. They tainted her Calling, tainted her, and she didn't know what to do about it.
