I just turned up this. Apparently, 4 people joined The Metro's reviewer on opening night, plus an additional 1 who was apparently another movie reviewer.

So a third of the audience was people who were being paid to watch the movie. (-:

The review in @GetCarter 's thread is one of those recycled quotes that actually comes from elsewhere according to Snopes; but lower in the thread people have suggested that the ticket sales for these places can be accounted for *entirely* by the news/magazine movie reviewers who did not have advance screenings.

I wasn’t expecting the bit in the #Melania documentary where she sat down and watched two very early episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond in a row and they showed you them in real time, with ads, so that took up about 50% of the running time.

But as a creative decision by the director I think it was sound and was definitely the highlight of the film. #USpoll

#Melania the movie has sold SEVEN tickets in the UK on a £35,000,000 advertising budget. That's five million pounds advertising per ticket!

Most of the time I think my country is scummy, but on this occasion we got the assignment and understood.

Meanwhile FIFA created a new set of movie awards and the movie is getting all of them.

The Times has been outdoing even it’s normally craven self to ‘big it up’. Murdoch obviously owes biggly - or should that be giggly?.

For the other showings on Saturday's opening of this blockbuster the following number of seats have been sold:

1pm - 9

3.45pm - 17

9.15pm - 17

10.15pm - 0

So, in total 89 tickets sold, on opening day, across 5 screenings.
