Closeup of a very shallow gray puddle on a city street. Little concrete bumps stick out of the water’s surface like islands, and a patch of dirty snow and ice slopes upward from left to right in the foreground at bottom frame. Reflected in the water is a pale winter sun, in a small opening of blue sky surrounded by gray clouds. Although it’s clear what the image is, it also makes me think of a snow-capped mountain lit by a waning sun, shining through the clouds of a gathering storm.

Milkweed pod at the edge of an industrial parking lot

Looking up at a milkweed seed pod next to a chain link fence. The pod is open, and the seeds are still attached. The bright sun is forming a halo of the wispy strands at the upper tip of the pod.

An old fashioned slate (rock) roof with splashes of snow on it against a blue sky with thin clouds. It looks like a normal roof until you focus on the top roofline, where there's a shape. Is it a dragon? There's triangular "spines" and then a curved neck/head looking thing on the end. A nice little bit of surprise on an otherwise normal roof.

A splash of green for this winter's day. Milkweed plant from above, its leaves come out the stem in alternating 90° angles, bigger the lower down the stem and smaller up top. The current leaf pair emerging look like a pair of lips. A little bit like Audrey from Little Shop of Horrors (without the teeth), "Seymour, Feed Me!"
