Back in the day, South Africa didn't just internally decide to do the right thing. They were pressured by sanctions. Before the sanctions, they had a lot of resources and a lot of European investment and many white South Africans were wealthy and comfortable.
Right now, some white USians are wealthy and comfortable, but the country's economy relies on trade.
Maybe change will come internally, or maybe it won't, but economic pressure would not go amiss. If the US is going to be lawless, it should experience sanctions.
What you can do:
* Cancel your US holiday plans.
* Take a look at FOSS. We're already on fedi here rather than meta or X, so what about ditching Microsoft , Google and Amazon as well?
* Your labour union can also push for your organisation to quit paying Microsoft et al.
* Think about how can you make it easier for people around you to also boycott US corporate software.
* Write your MP or elected officials and ask for sanctions. Ask your local government to drop its Microsoft contracts.
