This week, our rules on reducing plastic pellets, a major source of microplastics in the environment, came into force:

馃Ч companies must have spill clean-up and risk management plans for packaging, handling, and equipment
馃殯 non-EU carriers must have an EU representative
馃搩 operators handling >1500 tonnes of pellets annually need to obtain a certificate of compliance
鉀达笍 requirements for maritime transport

For us, our oceans and wildlife.

The image shows a stylized illustration titled "Battling the Ninja-microplastics." It features a ninja figure in the centre, composed of small dots representing plastic pellets, with an intense expression and a crouched stance. On either side of the ninja, there are illustrations of aquatic creatures, including fish and shrimp, along with blue coral-like plants. The background is white, and the image includes the EU flag at the bottom right corner. The overall theme appears to be about combating microplastics in the environment.
