Premier Kinew and Minister Asagwara aren’t leaving seniors at the mercy of the market, they’re stepping in to save these precious elder care beds. This is exactly what we mean when we say that the role of the government is to goddamn govern.

We cannot leave something as important as senior care in the hands of private corporations that know the price of everything and the value of nothing. It’s time to bring long-term care into the public and non-profit system where it belongs.

I am at the south end of the Nestaweya Trail, the path on the frozen Red and Assiniboine Rivers with lanes for skating and walking. I will walk to the west end of it (it goes north then turns west at the place where all the forks are sold). I've already walked a significant chunk to get here, but now I'm turning around and I'm going to do it end to end. #Winnipeg
