Today, on #socialBC I want to do a summary thread on this 145 page “State of Post Secondary in Canada 2025”.

I am grossed out by its AI fanboying -- a statement on the "state" of education in itself -- but the data is good... so... onward.

McMahon has acknowledged that only #Congress can eliminate the dept but vowed to do everything in her power to dismantle it from within.

An #Education Dept spox did not respond to a request for comment Tuesday.
Supporters of the dept say that the agency is effective in coordinating multiple aspects of education in one place & keeping priorities important to #students, #parents & #schools high on the federal agenda.

Offices that could be moved out of the agency include the Office for #CivilRights, which investigates allegations of #discrimination on the basis of #race, #sex & #disability; the Office of #SpecialEducation & #RehabilitativeServices, which administers the $15 billion Individuals with Disabilities Act program; & the #Indian #Education program; the Office of #Elementary & #Secondary Education, which administers #K12 #grant programs; & the Office of #Postsecondary Education.
