@dariana @3goodthings - Went to my temple last night for the New Years Eve Service. We meditated, chanted, sung a gatha, and listened to a dharma talk. We finished with ringing our konsho bell 108 times (we each got to ring it a couple times each) to symbolize the releasing of the 108 kleshas.

It was fun and the kids loved ringing the bell. The bell is smallish but still decently sized and rings quite loud with minimal effort so it was wonderful seeing a small child cause such a large sound 😆

Today the Midwest Buddhist Temple's Homeless Project reached a major milestone: their 10 year anniversary! They celebrated by making and delivering 300 sandwich bags and countless warm clothing items to local shelters.

On Thursday, November 27 (6:30pm) the Toronto Buddhist Church (1011 Sheppard Avenue W) will hold another soup-packing event. This is to create ready-mix soup bowls with rice, lentils and seasonings for the less fortunate. Like an assembly line, they add individual ingredients to create a nourishing, hearty soup. It's a fun filled group activity serving a great need! They provide all ingredients, so just come to help pack.

Last Saturday Buddhist Church of San Francisco members participated in the 4th annual Progress Pride Flag Raising Ceremony in Japantown. The event was originally initiated by local young Jodo Shinshu Buddhists who wanted to embed LGBTQ+ inclusion deeper into the Japanese American community.
