Hopefully, the onboarding process will be revised so that @Mastodon is no longer the only default instance to choose from, but just one of many options that new users are guided through in a short guided tour of the app when they first create an account, in order to determine their interests and needs and ultimately offer them one or a maximum of three instances to register with, based on the previous evaluation.

This would be truly transparent and would further improve the decentralisation of Mastodon, instead of always directing everyone to just one instance, as has been the case up to now.
