As I had discerned from careful tactile examination (and I will admit to a gentle shake or two), there were two wrapped gifts inside. Bonus: the wrapping paper has been enjoyed previously so I'm getting the afterglow.

I am very environmentally and politically minded. I love bikes, public transport, books, games, comics, movies, art, music, the ocean.
I like coffee and tea and love all food too, although I am mostly vegetarian.
I am a dad with a 6 year old, curious and engaged kid so anything that we could use to play together is also a great gift for me.
More than the present I enjoy the connection this activity creates, so don't worry too much about the thing. Handmade, simple is fine.
Just avoid corporate and plastic as much as possible.
No allergies or particular dislikes, but my partner has cat phobia so please avoid anything cat-related, as it will likely not be allowed in the house. Any other animals, ingredients, etc are fine.

There have been a few questions on how #SecretSantaAoNZ will work with including both Bluesky and Fediverse players. So a quick explainer for those that are interested.

For players from the Fediverse, the https://secretsanta.nz app will support login using your Fediverse account, so you can just sign up and play.
But there are a couple of differences:
1. You will have to bridge your account to Bluesky
2. You will have to follow both @secretsanta.nz and @SecretSantaNZ
Most announcements will come from @secretsanta.nz but DMs will come from @SecretSantaNZ since DMs don't go across the bridge.
