Selfie with Rose Parade remains for #trashtodon

A large pile of plastic ponchos, blue and transparent, as well as mylar space blankets, heaped up like plowed snow, at the base of a convex traffic mirror—in which, if you squint, you might see me snapping a photo with my phone. The street is damp and lined with palm trees and many more similar trash heaps. The sky is cloudy as if a storm is dissipating.

More #Trashtodon along the #LARiver

We are looking at the underside of an upturned wooden shipping pallet, painted a faded blue. A tangle of dry, reedy grasses wraps around the right side, protruding through the horizontal slats, along with scraps of cardboard, plastic, and dry leaves. A yellow beer can is crumpled into the pallet — its mouth looks the camera head-on. Adjacent to the can, a swatch of bright pink plastic probably a shredded grocery bag, wraps through the slats at an angle.

We're all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.

A little #LARiver #Trashtodon to brighten your day.

An oblique view down an uneven, paved embankment, at the bottom of which a bit of shimmering placid river is just visible. In the foreground, many, many bits of broken mirror reflect at differing angles the clear blue sky above. The mirror seems to scatter across the embankment as far as we can see.

We are looking down at a puddle of what might be a whole lot of thrown-up Jolly Ranchers or other colorful candy. A white painted line runs at an angle across the black asphalt surface, bisecting the vomitous heap, at the center of which, a black and pink striped pencil is likewise broken in half. If the vomit was a clock, the pencil would be its hands and the time would be 11:20. Also: a scrap of soggy paper or two. The vibe is festive and revolting.

Asphalt with wet brown leaves on top of it. Nestled in between the leaves are smashed porcelain parts of a white doll face. A blue eye is visible and what looks like a heart shape is drawn in red marker on another piece. Something dark yellow tha looks like fluid is on some.
