One interesting detail of the #V2G contract is that BMW acts as the fleet aggregator, meaning they decide which vehicles are discharged and when.
E.ON's #V2G tariff in Germany, which works with the newest BMW EV and DC bidirectional home charger, is now accepting applications. As this is Germany, legal and tax clarity was needed on revenues from feeding energy back into the grid: V2G is 'Liebhaberei'. [The simple translation from German is: 'It's a hobby.' However, we could also call it a love affair, which might be more fitting for the symbiotic EV-grid relationship.]

Wieso ist das wieder ein Reichenprivileg, die sowieso schon durch Besitz von Eigentum den Einspeisevorteil gegenüber Mietern haben?
Wer hat das Gesetz auf den Weg gebracht, wo doch immer der Vorwurf herrscht, Fossilisten trieben alleinig die Energieversorgung an? @BlumeEvolution
Wo ist der Haken, der nicht herausgestellt worden ist und nicht zu finden war?
Und nochmal. Bei aller Einschränkung und Nachbesserungsmöglichkeit. V2G an Gebäuden und Straßenzügen einzurichten ist Pionierarbeit. Wenn die da ist, bleibt die. Was war daran nicht grün?

Important decision for #V2G in Germany: parliament approves a legislative amendment that exempts electricity stored and supplied by bidirectional charging cars from energy tax and network costs. This makes the business case viable (and equivalent to large stationary batteries).

This is a good short-term solution to make #V2G more widely available. In a few years, it can then be replaced by a system with dynamic and sometimes even negative network prices.

Here are some of the details of the BMW/E.ON #V2G bundle that is set to launch in Germany:
A bonus for plugging in: 24 cents per hour plugged in, up to a maximum of €60 per month or €720 per year.
In addition, a feed-in tariff is paid for every kWh discharged onto the grid.

This is a surprisingly sharp price for BMW's bidirectional DC #V2G home charger. At only €1,500 more than their standard AC charging point, it's a great deal.
