This is an Autumn season photo of a very mature deciduous tree alongside a hiking trail. Many leaves have already fallen to the ground and the leaves remaining on the tree are a mix of green, yellow and orange. It was taken on a fair weather day with traces of the blue sky visible through the branches. The sunshine creates an illuminating effect on the leaves in the upper branches. The tree looks somewhat majestic and strong in terms of it's presence in the forest.

The trail is covered with fallen leaves which range in colour from light brown to orangish. The trail curves slightly to the right in the frame with trees close to the edges on both sides. Some green leaves still remain on the trees providing a mix of colour across the photo. The frame is filled with trees and leaves in the top section with no sky showing.

A handrail with two sections is present on the left hand side of the stairs. The trail leads up to the beginning of the steps and trees line both sides of the staircase. Although mid-October, the leaves on the trees in this area are still mostly green. Some brown fallen leaves can be seen on the trail itself.
