I have been thinking of generating visuals responsive to pre existing audio files, in #hydra, as I’d like to make videos. Crucially, I don’t want to live code them while the music plays, as I’d like to go back and forth in time to match visual and audio experience. I want instead a sequence of hydra scripts that plays and changes at an established time. I don’t want to pre-record them and hopefully match the patterns to the music.

I’ve done a little exploration of existing software and it seems there was nothing like it. So I’ve decided to start a simple web based video editor.

Work in progress. It’s incredible how many UI timeline related bugs there can be!

Here’s a screenshot

Oh, what also just comes to mind is the #Polyproto protocol. I think it may have been created in reaction to ActivityPub's complexity and issues around identity, not sure.

And another protocol in the works, inspired by AP is #Versia.

What I notice is an uptick in interest in #Hypermedia and using the open web standards as intended and best supported in browsers.

You see that in web frameworks that go for radical simplicity, like #Datastar at https://data-star.dev where the front-end offers intermediate-mode #UI and logic shifts to the back-end.

What I found interesting (for its concepts) many years ago when #LinkedData was still hottish, was the #Hydra hypermedia project.
