If you're using a keyboard and accessing Mastodon through your server's website, you can type emoji without having to use the picker.

Just type a colon : and without any spaces start typing a keyword. It will then present you with five emoji that match the keyword, and you can choose the one you want with the arrow keys.

For example if you type :sun you will see five different emoji for "sun".

If the one you want isn't suggested, click on the 🙂 picker icon instead.

That method doesn't allow me to choose non-white human emojis. For that I use the Awesome Emoji #Firefox add-on.

Download ✨ Awesome Emoji Picker ✨ for Firefox. Modern, nice emoji picker that you can use to find 🔎 and select emojis. 😀 It will be copied to your clipboard 📋 or even directly inserted into the page, when you click 🖱️ on it. You will certainly like it. 😎

I've finally switched to the @Vivaldi browser. I've been using Firefox for as long as I've been on the internet, but the focus on AI means it's no longer the browser for me. Thankfully unlike Chrome, Vivaldi supports the uBlock Origin extension which is the most important extension for being able to browse the web nowadays.

Sigh, time to stop using Firefox. I'm running out of options. I like Mullvad, but I also want to keep some of my history. Any suggestions for decent browsers?

Time for a new browser? I've had a good play with a ton of them, and I think I've found one that could be the thing.
