Vielen Dank an Table.Briefings für die fundierte Berichterstattung zur Fundraising-Kampagne für OLSPub.

Im Artikel wird auch die Position der DFG dargestellt: kritisiert wurden u. a. eine aus ihrer Sicht nicht ausreichende internationale Einbettung, fehlende Abstimmung mit der NLM sowie offene Governance-Fragen.

ZB MED nimmt diese Bewertung sehr ernst und teilt die Einschätzung, dass eine langfristig abgestimmte europäische Lösung strukturell wünschenswert ist.

Gemeinsam medizinisches Wissen schützen - ZB MED startet Fundraising-Kampagne für OLSPub, die europäische PubMed-Alternative

Was passiert, wenn medizinisches Wissen plötzlich nicht mehr verfügbar ist? Wenn zentrale Informationsquellen ausfallen, eingeschränkt werden oder von externen Interessen abhängen? Für Forschung, Versorgung und Innovation wäre das eine kritische Lücke. Genau hier setzt OLSPub an – eine offene, gemeinwohlorientierte Publikationsdatenbank für die Lebenswissenschaften, die ZB MED – Informationszentrum Lebenswissenschaften aufbaut. Für die vollständige Umsetzung des Projekts werden insgesamt zwei Millionen Euro benötigt. Da derzeit keine öffentliche Förderung angeboten wird, führt ZB MED eine Fundraising-Kampagne durch.
