Random #Adulting tip: If something glass broke and has strewn a bunch of little hard-to-find shards all over your floor, use a flashlight. Hold it low and as parallel to the ground as possible. Move between lighting straight forward and 90° to your sightline. Glass shards are reflective little buggers that sparkle like hell under moving light and the stark shadows at 90° make them easier to find.

Image showcasing 90° sideways light with the same perspective as the first two. The tiny glass shards and other debris cast stark shadows in this light, making them stand out a lot. It's very easy to make out plenty of shards. Additionally the water puddle has become very visible as well.

Image showcasing parallel light aimed forward with the same perspective as the first image. Inside the flashlight cone a bunch of bright spots are visible, the sharpest are point reflections from the glass shards. They are much easier to find.

Image showcasing the situation with top down/indirect lighting. This is how it looks with just ceiling lights. It's hard to impossible to make out any glass shards, or really anything small on the floor.

Second, related #Adulting tip if said glass thing contained water:

Get a thick and fluffy fabric towel like a bath towel. Fold it out completely, decide on a ‘top’ side (a print helps), then lay it flat on the ground. DO NOT turn it over until you are completely done. When you need to wring it, pick it up by the middle line, folding it in half. Glass shards are invisible in water and this way there is always a layer of fabric between your fingers and any sharp glass.
