To resist and survive fascism you must have a moral compass that does not need alignment, approval, or acceptance from the broader society and culture. You must be able to stand alone against fascism even in a society that becomes entirely dominated by fascism.

Happened to watch #Ionesco 's famous #absurdist play #Rhinocéros yesterday, and, although it can be ibterpreted in many ways, the analogy with a society going #fascist was very present for me throughout. In the end, the main character Béranger and his partner Daisy are the last humans to not have transformed into Rhinos, and his moral compass breaks only after she falls for the cult and he is completely alone.
