Other concerns include national security (waste shipments as terrorist targets) and geology (Yucca's aquifer drains to the #AmargosaValley – home to more than 1,400 people and several #endangered species). Occasionally I run Americans saying into " #America was a colony too" in way as if that gives them some form solidarity with colonized around the world?

It's so ignorant on so many levels. Moreover, For #NativeAmericans, the transition from " #British" to "American" subjects was, arguably worse and led to a even more horrific new phase in #genocidal #colonialism, as one of the drivers of the #American revolution was a desire to further expand and colonize the #west.

While the events of that day are sometimes described as a battle, historical records show that the #USArmy, which was in the midst of a campaign to *repress* the #tribes in the area, killed an estimated 250 #NativeAmericans, including #women & #children, of the #Lakota #Sioux tribe, while attempting to *disarm* #NativeAmerican fighters who had already surrendered at their camp.
