Today it's a mandatory digital ID card to prove you have the right to work but in the future you might have to use it to access the NHS, to rent or buy a home, or to access benefits.
It's time to fight back, 'Say No to Digital IDs'.

We're in a cost of living crisis and Labour wants to bring in digital ID cards for everyone 🤡 They're risking turning the UK into a pre-crime state where we constantly have to prove who we are to go about our daily lives.

#Starmer says digital #IDcards an 'enormous opportunity' for UK and will make working illegally tougher - https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2025/sep/26/keir-starmer-digital-id-cards-immigration-borders-reform-uk-politics-live?page=with%3Ablock-68d630c48f0892d6aebac2c9#block-68d630c48f0892d6aebac2c9 yes, an enormous opportunity for total #surveillance
ID cards are bad. Very bad.
1. Once they exist it will become necessary to always carry it. If you don't you must have something to hide, etc.
2. They can't stop people working in the 'black economy' because people currently employing those working for cash don't care.
3. It is another attack on trans and NB people (very unlikely someone would be allowed to have multiple IDs)
4. Massive data loss of personal information is highly likely.
5. Who pays? Why should they?
6. Police state becomes more likely with having your ID inspected whenever a copper wants to harass someone, especially POC.
7. OTHER OPTIONS ALREADY EXIST!
ID cards are a very bad, very dangerous, very expensive, and very risky idea.

Oh look they’ve dragged out another old #Blair crony…David Blunkett. He’s always been a big fan of #IDCards…but erm, he seems to have forgotten why:
“I’m mystified that people haven’t come out with a highly coherent view of why we need it, why it would be beneficial to individuals.
Why aren’t our people coming out and arguing this case full on? We need conviction politics now and we need it urgently.”
What would that case be David? If you don’t say it out right, there isn’t a case, is there?
“The prime minister will not be announcing a BritCard, it’s not called a BritCard, and it isn’t even a card ..
We’ve got boarding passes, train tickets, Tesco Clubcards on our phones already, and I can be very clear that you won’t be required to carry it or produce it except to prove your right to work in the United Kingdom.
So people may be inclined to try to play politics or to try and anticipate what this is…this is not a card, it is a digital ID.”
